To honor Veterans Day, Zack Snyder shared a striking photo of Henry Cavill as Superman, standing with pride before the American flag.
As a huge movie fan, I always appreciate seeing filmmakers use their platforms for good. So, I was really touched by Zack Snyder’s Veterans Day post on Instagram. He simply said he’s thankful for those who fight for truth, justice, and freedom – and honestly, it felt really genuine and powerful. It’s a nice reminder to show our gratitude, not just today, but always. 🇺🇸 #VeteransDay
I noticed Zack Snyder really paid tribute to American veterans through his Superman, making a clear connection to values we hold dear here. It struck me that James Gunn didn’t seem to acknowledge them publicly, and I found that a bit surprising.

Snyder’s Post Lands at a Very Interesting Time
Again, the timing is impossible to ignore.
Snyder dropping a patriotic Cavill Superman image on Veterans Day comes just as:
- Skydance is emerging as the frontrunner to buy Warner Bros. Discovery
- The Trump administration reportedly favors the Skydance deal, which would put WBD under the Ellison family — long-time Trump supporters
- Skydance (and Paramount) have openly embraced a more pro-America, MAGA and anti-woke direction
Zack Snyder’s Superman films traditionally emphasized classic American values, but James Gunn’s new version is taking a different approach.

Snyder Has Been Posting DCEU Content Nonstop — Right After Our Reporting on Gunn
Sources familiar with the situation say James Gunn is likely to leave DC Studios after Warner Bros. Discovery is sold.
Right after that story went live?
Snyder suddenly began unloading daily DCEU nostalgia bombs:
- Ben Affleck Batman images
- Jared Leto Joker shots
- Henry Cavill Superman photos
- Behind-the-scenes moments from Batman v Superman
- Vintage IMAX production photos
And now a Veterans Day Superman tribute — the most patriotic Cavill image he’s ever posted.
It’s almost like Snyder knows something?

We’ve Been Told Snyder Wants to Return — With The Dark Knight Returns
We’ve been told by our sources that:
- “EVERYONE has moved on from the SnyderVerse”
- Except Snyder himself, who wants to return for a Dark Knight Returns adaptation
- And now, with a potential Skydance takeover, those odds suddenly look a lot more realistic
It’s also worth noting that Skydance already has a strong relationship with Netflix, and Zack Snyder has been successfully creating major franchises for them recently.
If Warner Bros. Discovery changes course and moves away from James Gunn’s vision towards a more conventional and financially successful approach, a comeback for Zack Snyder becomes a real possibility. The key now is figuring out exactly what that comeback would look like.
