He then shared a famous line from the movie: “A new era has dawned, an era of freedom, and everyone will remember that 300 Spartans fought to their deaths to protect it!”

This showed Snyder wasn’t going to ignore the anniversary. Even after almost twenty years, 300 is still one of the films he’s best known for, and it continues to spark conversation among fans every March.

Larry Fong joins in

Cinematographer Larry Fong also joined the celebration with his own post.

Fong expressed gratitude to Snyder for letting him work on a memorable project, mentioning that 300 was the first film they collaborated on.

This anniversary is even more special because 300 wasn’t just when Zack Snyder became well-known. It marked the beginning of a collaboration that fans still love and associate with his best films.

A busy month for Snyder fans

Can you believe 300 is turning 300… well, not really, but it’s a big anniversary! It’s hitting right in the middle of a bunch of Zack Snyder milestones, which is kinda cool. I remember being blown away by Gerard Butler as King Leonidas. The cast was incredible overall – Lena Headey was fantastic as Queen Gorgo, and you had David Wenham as Dilios, Dominic West as Theron, Vincent Regan as Captain Artemis, Michael Fassbender as Stelios, and Rodrigo Santoro totally owning the role of Xerxes. Seriously, what a lineup!

Zack also marked the releases of Watchmen on March 6, 2009, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which premiered on March 25, 2016.

This timing is also close to Zack Snyder’s birthday – he turned 60 on March 1st, having been born in 1966. With anniversary posts for 300 appearing around his birthday, it’s become a big celebratory period for both Snyder and his fans.
