In the wake of his contentious split with Brianna ‘Chickenfry’ LaPaglia, Zach Bryan faced a barrage of negativity. Rather than remaining silent, he decided to defend his friends when they were the target of online trolls.
On Thursday, January 9, the 28-year-old country singer responded to critics who had been harassing his friends online, by posting a series of stories on Instagram.
He started off by saying, “All you internet trolls who bully and demean my friends online because you think I have a girlfriend are truly bizarre and warrant scientific study. It’s puzzling why people wonder why I stopped touring and no longer wish to be involved in music when you’re busy insulting my friends and harassing them instead.
Bryan went on to say, “I’m not seeking pity, but it’s incredibly low and absurd that someone would target my friends. It seems that over the past fortnight, I’ve had four different girlfriends, yet we’re still enjoying our usual camaraderie and laughter together as if nothing has changed.
Later on, he made clear that he’s currently single and has no intention of being in a relationship, yet he reserves the right to enjoy his own romantic life without unnecessary interference from others in his private matters.
He urged, “Focus your efforts and emotions on the real-life crisis at hand – a city in flames – rather than being overly emotional, inconsistent, and immature towards screens.” He concluded emphatically, “This is my final word on this matter. It’s astounding that I even need to say it. You are not acquainted with me. You will never truly understand me. Stop pretending otherwise.
Bryan surprisingly expressed, through several of his Instagram posts, that he seems to be growing increasingly inclined towards staying out of the public limelight permanently.
For those less familiar, Bryan has faced hostility from cultural investigators since October 2024, following his announcement that he and LaPaglia had ended their relationship after a year.
Lapaglia claims that Bryan was unfaithful and psychologically tormented her during their time together.
