In 2016, Adam Devine and Zac Efron were known as the inseparable pair of the town following their onscreen collaboration in “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.” But since then, their friendship seems to have faded away, with Devine recently sharing an unusual encounter he experienced with his former co-star.
On the Graham Bensinger Podcast, Pitch Perfect alum shared that around six months ago, his old friend Zac Efron unexpectedly contacted him. Devine explained, “Zac reached out to me, hadn’t spoken to me for a couple of years, and did so out of the blue. He was on some secluded island at the time.
Following some exchanges and friendly banter, it is said that Efron inquired if he could spend two weeks at his beach house. The actor from “The Righteous Gemstones” went on to say, “He casually mentioned that he’s been missing me.” To which I responded, “I miss you too, buddy. You’re a good friend of mine,” and he asked, “Do you still have that place by the beach?
After Adam Devine gives his approval, the High School Musical star proposes, “Is it alright if I drop by for a two-week visit at your place?” Surprised yet accommodating, he consents, responding, “Sure, feel free to come over.” The two then discuss further arrangements the following day. Zac informs him that he’ll be visiting the next week and plans to call with his address details, but strangely enough, that call never materialized.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my tale of woe: He vanished without a trace, leaving me hanging, man. Not a peep in response. I dared to ask, “Are you still around?” over text, and since then, we’ve been radio silent. The actor himself seems bewildered by our interaction, admitting he’s at a loss as to how to interpret it all.
