It seems like streaming services are constantly raising prices or combining, which usually means we all pay more. But today, YouTube announced a new approach. They’re planning to let you personalize your subscription to save money, and in 2026, they’ll offer over ten different plans focused on specific types of content at a lower cost.
YouTube TV plans are getting a revamp in early 2026, offering viewers more choices and control over what they pay for. Instead of a single package, YouTube will introduce over ten different channel bundles focused on specific interests, like sports or movies. This allows customers to customize their subscription and only pay for the genres they enjoy, though the current all-inclusive option will still be available. YouTube announced these changes on its official blog.
We’re giving you more ways to customize your YouTube TV subscription. You can continue with our standard plan that includes over 100 channels, or choose a plan focused on sports, a combination of sports and news, or family-friendly entertainment. We want to make it easy for you to find the perfect plan for your needs.

YouTube hasn’t announced all the details about its new genre packages yet, except for what’s included in the Sports Plan. This plan will give sports fans access to major networks and channels like FS1, NBC Sports Network, and all of ESPN’s networks, including ESPN Unlimited. Subscribers will also be able to add options like NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone, and will still have features like unlimited DVR storage, multiview, key play highlights, and a fantasy football view.
It’s still unclear if this new approach will work, or if people will prefer a single, all-inclusive option. We’ll address that question later, but for now, we’re happy to be offering streaming news without raising prices.
