Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man: The Shocking Truth Behind Its Disastrous Ratings!

The latest Nielsen ratings are out, and they cover the week when the last two episodes of “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” were released. Unfortunately, these final episodes didn’t make it onto the Nielsen charts, much like the earlier ones. In fact, Netflix’s “Gabby’s Dollhouse” ranked higher with a total of 496 million minutes watched, placing “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” even further down the list.

It also suggests that, now that all episodes are available, no one has binge-watched the series.

Previous from March 14:

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’ve been hooked on the captivating world of “X-Men ’97” and the witty charm of the newly released “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” series that graced our screens on Disney+. However, strangely enough, this fantastic duo seems to be missing from the Nielsen ratings charts.

Marvel has released the initial six episodes of their new series, but none have managed to make it onto the streaming charts so far. This suggests that viewers haven’t rushed to binge-watch the show during its first three weeks of release.

As I’ve gone over, Disney automatically has Nielsen turned on in your Disney+ accounts.

What are the ratings?

As a movie enthusiast, I’ve just learned that the Nielsen ratings for the week of February 10-16 are out! This is exciting because it includes the streaming period for episodes 6, 7, and 8 of my favorite series, “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”, which I’ve been binging on Disney+.

At the lower end of the ranking sits Netflix’s show, Cassandra, with a total watch time of 465 million minutes, which is more than all episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man combined. Interestingly, quality of animation doesn’t seem to be an issue here, as Amazon’s Invincible ranks higher at #9.

Marvel fans aren’t interested

These tales resemble those found in ‘X-Men ’97’, live-action series such as ‘Daredevil: Rebirth’, ‘Agatha’, ‘Skeleton Crew’, and ‘The Acolyte’, along with movies like ‘Captain America: New World Order’, ‘The Marvels’, and ‘Quantum Fury’. However, Marvel enthusiasts seem unenthused, and they’re not tuning in. It doesn’t make a difference that the quality of these productions isn’t exceptional either.

Can’t blame Superhero Fatigue

It’s hard to point fingers at superhero fatigue when movies like Deadpool and Wolverine, as well as Spider-Man: No Way Home, have raked in over $1.3 billion and nearly $2 billion respectively at the box office for Disney. Contrastingly, viewers aren’t flocking to watch the traditional version of Spider-Man, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, as the characters that have been around for decades seem to have been altered to fit a more contemporary social perspective.

Should be on chopping block

It seems that both “X-Men ’97” and “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” are set to have more seasons, but it doesn’t appear that this is due to high viewership on Disney+. Instead, these additional seasons may have been part of the shows’ original contracts, possibly funded by DEI (Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion). Given the current low numbers, if not for these pre-existing deals, they might be facing cancellation instead.

Message is loud and clear

Absolutely, the message is unmistakable – it echoes a familiar tune from fans over time: steer clear of replacing beloved characters, avoid using productions as a platform for moralizing, and refrain from shifting blame towards us for your missteps. What we truly crave is premium content and enjoyable experiences, devoid of any underlying agendas.

How’s it been working out?
