The actor shared his thoughts on what made the first season of Hawkeye special. He particularly liked the show’s more personal and family-focused approach, noting that this is a core part of Clint Barton’s character. He believes Clint’s greatest strength isn’t a superpower, but his humanity – he’s a superhero without any powers.

Renner had previously shared that he was asked to return for the second season, but the proposed salary was significantly lower – about half of what he made on the first season. Given the lengthy, eight-month filming commitment and his ongoing recovery from his injuries, he ultimately decided to decline the offer.

Renner didn’t accuse Marvel or Disney of wrongdoing, but suggested he turned down the opportunity because of the money offered.

The possibility of a second season of Hawkeye is great news. Jeremy Renner is dedicated to continuing Clint Barton’s story, and the show’s focus on family makes it a more realistic and relatable part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
