Young Thug and Mariah the Scientist have been together since 2021, and their relationship is progressing. On December 16th, the rapper proposed to her during a benefit concert in Atlanta. She happily accepted his proposal in front of a cheering crowd.

During his concert in Atlanta on Tuesday, rapper Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams II, proposed to his girlfriend, Mariah the Scientist (Mariah Amani Buckles). He presented her with a ring onstage, asking ‘Will you marry me?’ as a sparkling message lit up behind them. The audience erupted in cheers when she accepted, and the happy couple celebrated their engagement right then and there.
The 28-year-old songwriter had previously mentioned wanting to get married and start a family in an interview with Angie Martinez. There were rumors last year that she was pregnant after Young Thug playfully suggested they were trying for a baby, but they never confirmed it. Despite reports of trouble, the couple seemed to be doing well together by October.
The couple previously faced a difficult period after a recording of his infidelity in 2022 was leaked. He publicly apologized on X (formerly Twitter), saying he was wrong and deeply sorry for the pain he caused, and asking for forgiveness. He also pleaded with people to leave her out of the drama, as she was innocent and hurt by the situation. While they appeared to have split up, this recent development has fans hopeful for their future together.
