You won’t believe which rock legends were at Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral

Last week, Ozzy Osbourne held a public memorial service in his hometown of Birmingham, England, where fans could place flowers by his casket and people could pay their respects to the legendary heavy metal artist. His private funeral took place separately.

Ozzie chose to be buried by a peaceful lake at the family’s countryside estate – a request he had made himself. This secluded spot provided Sharon and their two adult children with a private setting for this significant occasion. However, they didn’t mourn alone; many musicians were also in attendance at the service.

At the event were his Black Sabbath companions – Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. This gathering took place only a few weeks following their farewell performance at Villa Park in Birmingham, and merely a week after the unexpected passing of Ozzy.

The list of musicians at Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral is impressive

It wasn’t a secret that the vocalist was unwell; in fact, it was common knowledge that he had Parkinson’s disease. What shocked everyone was his sudden death just over two weeks after his farewell performance. Although fans and fellow musicians knew he was ill, they didn’t anticipate his passing so soon.

Apart from his Sabbath fellow band members, it seems that musicians like Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne’s long-time guitarist), Corey Taylor of Slipknot, James Hetfield of Metallica, and Rob Zombie were also in attendance. Given their association with heavy metal music, it is not surprising to see them there.

Some surprising attendees, though, included Elton John and Yungblud. Marilyn Manson was also there.

Elton John and Ozzy Osbourne have been friends for quite a while, despite their genres of music being quite distinct. Both hailing from England, they established their musical careers in the late ’60s and early ’70s, making them contemporaries in the rock scene. They were two peas in a pod, albeit with different musical styles.

It became known that Yungblud and Ozzy share a connection when Yungblud attended the Back to the Beginning farewell event. It turns out that Ozzy mentored Yungblud, and Yungblud expressed his gratitude and admiration for the legendary rocker.

It’s quite unexpected that Marilyn Manson attended the funeral, given the more recent allegations against him. However, it’s important to note that these accusations haven’t been proven yet. The Osbourne family didn’t seem concerned about potential backlash from his presence.

Musicians like Robert Trujillo of Metallica have shared on social media that they attended Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral. Given this, it is probable that other well-known figures will emerge who also paid their respects.
