Your fast-food experience is set to become a bit more pixelated. A collaboration between McDonald’s and Minecraft is coming true as they team up for the upcoming live-action Minecraft movie produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. In preparation for the release of the Minecraft movie, expect new meals, packaging inspired by the game world, and exclusive collectibles. From April 1st, you can grab these limited items at your local McDonald’s.
McDonald’s has been quite active in teaming up with popular culture icons lately, from the beloved TV series Friends and Rick and Morty to global pop sensation BTS. In many of these partnerships, McDonald’s introduces a new themed meal and an exclusive sauce. The Minecraft collaboration is receiving special attention, offering not just one but two options: the Minecraft Movie Meal and the Minecraft Movie Happy Meal.
In summary, both meals come with unique packaging, a Nether Flame sauce, toys themed after the Minecraft Movie, and downloadable content codes for the game. The regular Happy Meal offering includes these same items plus a scannable game code. The toy selection is one of twelve figures or Block World toys inspired by the Minecraft Film. Few details about the game have been disclosed, but the McDonald’s website suggests it will allow players to embark on a quest within the Minecraft Movie universe.
With every purchase of the “Minecraft Movie Meal” at McDonald’s, you’ll receive one out of six unique collectible action figures. These figurines depict characters from both McDonald’s and the film, and each comes with a special card and a code to redeem for that character’s skin in Minecraft. Additionally, fans will be granted a single-use code to acquire the exclusive McDonald’s Add-On pack within the game. This pack includes McDonaldland characters, structures, and tools for use in Minecraft. The figures available are:
- Big Mac Crystal – Mined from the sea of special sauce, this precious block derives its radiant shine from melty cheese and a toasty sesame seed bun.
- Birdie Wings – Keep your eye to the sky or you might miss the early bird soaring high above the clouds with a rare pair of elytra wings.
- Fry Helmet – Forged from the iconic French Fry box, this enchanted helmet is rumored to protect you from friends stealing your last Fry.
- Grimace Egg – Emerging from the depths of a purple shake, this magical Grimace mob gets its shape from the most coveted egg of them all.
- Soda Potion – The electrifying effect of this potion is as mysterious as its recipe: an accidental combo of fantastic fizzy flavors.
- Zombie Hamburglar – Little is known about this hungry mob who spawns late at night and wanders all biomes in search of hamburgers.
For the food options in the usual meal, you have two main choices: a Big Mac or ten pieces of Chicken McNuggets served with a medium drink and fries. If possible, opt for the nuggets so you can savor them with the special Nether Flame Sauce dip. This sauce is a limited-time offer, featuring flavors of crushed red pepper, cayenne, subtle garlic hints, and a touch of sweetness. You’re also welcome to ask for just the sauce to accompany any McDonald’s order.
