You won’t believe how I found out about Sadie Sink landing a role in the new Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day! Apparently, she first learned about being cast through online gossip and rumors – can you imagine? She didn’t get the official call, she found out what everyone else did, scrolling through the internet! It’s a pretty wild story, and as a huge fan, I’m so excited to see what she brings to the Marvel universe.
Sadie Sink revealed to Jimmy Fallon that rumors were circulating online about her potentially being in the new Spider-Man movie. She was surprised when, just two days later, she actually received an offer for the role.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the newest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it’s the 38th film overall in the franchise. It’s also the fourth Spider-Man movie to star Tom Holland as Peter Parker.
Destin Daniel Cretton directed the film, which was written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. It features returning stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, and welcomes new cast member Sydney Sweeney. The film also includes performances by Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III.
Plans for this Spider-Man movie started years ago, even before ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ came out. Producer Amy Pascal announced it would be the first of a new three-movie series starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Filming began in August and took place in Glasgow, Scotland, and several locations in England, including Pinewood Studios. The movie finished filming in December 2025.
The new Spider-Man movie, “Brand New Day,” will be released in US theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Initially, it wasn’t certain if Zendaya would be back, but Deadline Hollywood later confirmed her return. Before Sadie Sink’s casting was made official in March 2025, there was speculation she might play Jean Grey from the X-Men.
