Toad isn’t thrilled about the new addition to the team, and we understand why—Yoshi appears suddenly and quickly becomes a key player. Still, we’re excited to have Yoshi with us, especially seeing him create eggs right before our eyes! Mario and Luigi are going to need all the help they can get, as Bowser has his own family and loyal Koopa troops to assist with his revenge plans. And beyond Yoshi’s eggs, the Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be packed with fun Easter eggs for fans, including the arrival of the Shy Guys – a favorite of ours!

The upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie will bring back Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad. Joining the cast for the sequel are Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina.

Following the huge success of the first movie, Nintendo and Illumination are sticking with what works for the sequel. The same team—directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, writer Matthew Fogel, and composer Brian Tyler—are all returning to bring the new film to life.

The new Super Mario Galaxy Movie has a lot to live up to – not only as a film, but also as an adaptation of the incredibly popular and highly-rated Super Mario Galaxy game. Will the movie be able to capture the magic of the original? We’ll find out when it hits theaters on April 1st, and everyone will be ready to say, “Let’s-a-go!”
