As a dedicated fan and follower of the enchanting world of Bridgerton, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of excitement and joy upon learning about the casting of Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek for season four. Her journey to this role is nothing short of heartwarming, and it reminds me of a scene straight out of one of Julia Quinn’s beloved novels.
In the fourth season of Netflix’s popular historical romance series, “Bridgerton,” Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson will take center stage. Ha’s character, Sophie Baek, is set to be the love interest for Thompson’s character, Benedict. After securing the role, Ha expressed her excitement about it on social media.
Moreover, it’s been made clear by the show’s makers that the upcoming season will revolve around the romantic tale of Benedict, inspired by Julia Quinn’s popular (third Bridgerton) novel titled “An Offer From a Gentleman”. Keep reading for more insights!
In a fresh video conversation with Shodaland, Yerin Ha and her fellow actor Luke Thompson shared insights on the forthcoming Bridgerton season, hinting at thrilling tidbits for eager fans. During their open dialogue, Ha shared her initial feelings when she discovered she had landed the main role of Sophie.
The actress revealed that upon being offered the role, she was enjoying breakfast with her mother at a Korean café. Upon hearing the news, her mom became emotional, and later, outside, it turned out to be amusing as her mother seemed to instantly sense that she had secured the part, since she knew her daughter was ecstatically jumping around the streets of Gangnam when she got the role.
The actress mentioned, “She exited tearfully, followed by a phone call which prompted her to say, ‘I believe I have indigestion, we need to go home,’ so we departed. It was quite moving to essentially experience that moment with her.
In a recent turn of events, she disclosed that she had also called up her dearest friend over FaceTime to break the news, and she mimicked her friend’s response by saying something along the lines of, “Oh my God. You’re on Bridgerton!” The actress from Bad Behavior expressed delight at having individuals close to her who truly ‘appreciate and encourage’ her.
When asked about her feelings about joining the cast and crew of the series, Yerin Ha conveyed that she can hardly find words to express how incredible it feels to be accepted as part of this family. She is extremely thankful for the warm welcome she has received and mentioned that everyone has opened their arms to her, making it a wonderful experience thus far.
Her casting was confirmed with a 30-second teaser posted on Bridgerton’s Instagram account last month, revealing that she’s the newest member of the Ton. The post read, “Dearest Gentle Reader, as preparations for the next social season are almost underway, we request a warm welcome to the newest member of the Ton….Presenting Yerin Ha as Sophie in Bridgerton Season 4!”
