‘Yeah, That Happens’: Dwayne Johnson Admits Peeing in Bottles on Red One Set, Trashes Chronic Tardiness Rumor

As a lifestyle expert with a penchant for Hollywood’s behind-the-scenes antics, I must say that Dwayne Johnson‘s candid confessions have left me both amused and intrigued. His admission of peeing in water bottles might be an unusual topic, but his transparency is refreshing, especially when it comes to addressing such quirks head-on.

According to a report from The Wrap in April, Dwayne Johnson is confirming some aspects of their story, which states that he was regularly late on the set of his upcoming Christmas film Red One. This chronic tardiness reportedly caused the production to postpone the movie’s release by $250 million. Furthermore, it was alleged that Johnson would sometimes resort to using bottles instead of taking breaks due to his frequent delays to prevent any additional delays.

In an exclusive chat with GQ, published on November 11, I, as a lifestyle connoisseur, openly admitted to a rather unconventional practice while on set. Yes, you heard it right – when the clock strikes work time, so does my bladder control, and I resort to using a bottle. It’s part of the territory when juggling intense work schedules!

In response to queries concerning later events in the narrative, Johnson, aged 52, acknowledged, “Indeed, such incidents occur as well.” However, he swiftly labeled the stated financial setback suffered by the team because of his frequent lateness as “unreasonable.

“That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy,” he remarked.

As reported by a previous WWE star, the entire uproar was widely perceived as “nonsense,” and many others shared this sentiment.

Jake Kasdan, the director of Red One, mentioned to GQ that Johnson always showed up for work without fail. He added that while rumors about him being late on set might hold some truth, it’s not just a problem with him; in fact, it’s a frequent challenge in Hollywood, as many stars balance numerous responsibilities, which can sometimes result in tardiness.

I can’t help but gush about this! You know who I’m talking about? Jon Kasdan! He spilled the beans about his collaborations with the incredible, ever-gracious Johnson. Over three movies, I’ve yet to witness anything but kindness radiating from him towards those around us. It’s truly inspiring!

Chris Evans’ fellow actor in the movie “Johnson’s Red One,” expressed views that mirrored these, clarifying that Evans was not usually late unexpectedly. Instead, his schedule had been strategically arranged to accommodate his other obligations, a fact that was transparent to the whole team.

Previously, Johnson, known for his honesty, has openly discussed his peculiar restroom behavior.

“I do pee in my water bottles, but let me give context to that,” he told Esquire in 2021.

The actor who played Moana shared an interesting fact afterwards: instead of using his water bottles for their intended purpose while working out at the gym (which doesn’t have bathrooms), he repurposes some of them for another need by urinating in them. This helps him stay hydrated during his workouts and relieve himself when necessary, as he has to go to the bathroom a few times.

In September 2017, there was an incident during one of Johnson’s gym sessions where he inadvertently exposed one of his water bottles, which appeared to be a pee bottle to the viewers. Instead of trying to hide or downplay it, he openly acknowledged that this is likely what his audience would have assumed it to be.

Red One, starring Johnson, Evans, Lucy Liu, and J.K. Simmons, hits theaters on Friday, November 15.
