For years, Xbox games were exclusive to Xbox consoles and PCs. Now, Xbox Game Studios is releasing its titles on other platforms, like the PlayStation 5, with two new games planned for February 2026. This move to make games available on multiple platforms—including the Switch—has boosted sales for some titles, but it could ultimately harm the Xbox brand in the long run, potentially causing lasting damage.
PlayStation 5 owners are now able to enjoy games from Xbox Game Studios without needing an Xbox console or a high-end PC. Popular titles like Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Gears of War: Reloaded are already available, and more are coming soon. Later this year, players can look forward to the Halo 1 remake, Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and Gears of War: E-Day all being released on PS5.
Although some highly anticipated games are still months away, PlayStation 5 owners have a couple of titles coming up soon. Later this month, players can enjoy Avowed and Towerborne, both published by Xbox Game Studios. Fortunately, we already have a good sense of the quality of these games, so PS5 players are likely to have a great experience.
New Xbox Games Coming to PS5 This Month

- Avowed – February 17
- Towerborne – February 26
The action RPG Avowed, developed by Obsidian Entertainment, will be available on PS5 on February 17th. It originally launched on PC and Xbox Series X/S a year prior. While similar in style to games like The Elder Scrolls, Avowed is a smaller experience overall. It received generally positive reviews and was considered one of the standout games published by Xbox last year. PS5 players looking for a large-scale action RPG should definitely keep an eye out for it.
On February 26th, PlayStation 5 players will be able to play Towerborne, a unique action game that blends beat ’em up and RPG elements. Developed by Stoic, the studio behind The Banner Saga, Towerborne has been available on PC and Xbox in early access for the past two years and has received positive feedback. The full version, 1.0, will launch on PS5, continuing the trend of Xbox-published games appearing on Sony’s console. Fans of the genre are excited about this release.
