The most expensive Ultimate plan will increase in price by 50%, now costing $29.99 per month, as recently announced. A lot of users are attempting to cancel their subscriptions before the next billing cycle, but they’re finding the cancellation process difficult. Many users are reporting that the page for cancelling their Xbox Game Pass subscriptions is repeatedly crashing. Even if the page loads, it’s running extremely slowly, suggesting a large number of people are cancelling their subscriptions following the recent price increase. This is causing frustration for those trying to manage their subscriptions. It appears the system is overloaded due to the high volume of cancellation requests.

We’ve received reports from many users stating “the site keeps crashing for me”. This appears to be due to a significantly higher volume of traffic to the cancellation page than we normally see.
Given such a significant increase in subscription prices, it’s understandable that a large number of people are attempting to cancel their subscriptions right now.
Let’s look at the cost: Game Pass Ultimate will now be $360 per year. That’s around $60 more than what the Xbox Series S originally cost. Considering that console prices are also going up, in some situations, buying the console itself is cheaper than paying for a year of the subscription.
Game Pass was once highly regarded for being a great value, attracting many gamers. However, as the overall cost of gaming rises – especially with pricey devices like the ROG Xbox Ally X at $999.99 – a lot of people in the gaming world are starting to wonder about Xbox’s plans. Many feel the approach is becoming unclear and lacks consistency.
