X-Men Return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Teaser – Xavier Meets Magneto and Cyclops Unleashes Massive Eye Beam

The X-Men are coming back to the big screen! A short preview for the new Avengers: Doomsday movie has been released online after first being shown with screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Fans are thrilled that Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden will be returning as Professor Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Cyclops.

The group first became well-known in the early 2000s through the X-Men movie series on Fox, alongside Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Jackman later reprised his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Deadpool & Wolverine.

Although Patrick Stewart reprised his role as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, this marks the first time the classic X-Men characters will appear alongside the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and other Marvel heroes in one film.

The preview begins at Xavier’s deserted school for mutants. Magneto speaks a haunting line: “Death comes for us all. It’s the only certainty. The real question isn’t whether you’re ready to die, but who you are when your time comes.” We then see Xavier’s wheelchair and a chess piece floating in the air – a reference to the film X-Men: The Last Stand – before the two longtime enemies share a hug.

The preview includes a striking scene of Cyclops, portrayed by James Marsden, firing a huge red energy blast from his visor, suggesting he’ll be a key player in the next story.

The movie will feature Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. These actors will work alongside and oppose a large cast of Avengers stars, including Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Simu Liu, and others.

As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited to see how they’re blending different universes! This crossover event is bringing in some fantastic cast members from the Fantastic Four – Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach – and we’ll also be seeing the whole Thunderbolts crew, including Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and a bunch of other great actors.
