X-Men Fans Rejoice: Allan Cumming Hints at a Legendary Mutant Returning

Allan Cumming has hinted that a popular X-Men character will appear in the new movie, *Avengers: Doomsday*.

Entertainment Tonight recently asked him about the possibility of Halle Berry reprising her role as Storm (Ororo Munroe).

“She might actually come,” Cumming admitted. “But honestly, I’m the worst person to ask about it.” The host playfully pointed out that Cumming was, in fact, the first to be asked, considering his tendency to share information. Cumming laughed and explained, “You’re right, I am. I got in trouble for mentioning it before, and I’ve been deliberately being vague about it ever since.”

Cumming revealed he worked on the film mostly by himself. He explained, “I filmed everything in isolation, using a lot of green screen and face replacement technology. They even used fake names for the other characters, so I often didn’t know who I was acting with!” He joked about a previous incident, saying, “I supposedly ‘broke the internet’ with a comment once, but I might have been mistaken.”



The actor originally played Nightcrawler a long time ago and wasn’t eager to reprise the role because of the time-consuming makeup and costume. However, advancements in special effects have simplified the process, making it much easier for him to return.

Marvel has officially announced that Cumming will be back for a major crossover event. He’ll be joined by new cast members like Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The event will also feature a large number of returning X-Men actors, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and Rebecca Romijn, making it one of Marvel’s biggest crossover projects yet.

Alan Cumming is known for accidentally revealing plot details, much to the amusement of fans. During a recent appearance filling in for Jimmy Kimmel, he playfully questioned the cast of *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* about keeping secrets, only for Pascal (who plays Mister Fantastic) to jokingly point out that Cumming himself was the source of a major leak. Earlier this year, Cumming prematurely revealed a fight scene involving Nightcrawler and Mister Fantastic, which earned him a stern talking-to from his publicist. He confessed, “You really don’t want to upset your publicist!”

Okay, so I’m seriously hyped for the next Avengers movie! It’s called *Avengers: Doomsday*, and the Russo brothers are directing, with a script by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. Apparently, they’re bringing *everyone* together – the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, New Avengers, and even the Wakandans! The big bad is Doctor Doom, and get this – Robert Downey Jr. is playing him! It’s slated to come out December 18, 2026, and then, even cooler, they’re already planning *Avengers: Secret Wars* for 2027. It’s going to be epic!
