X-Men Cyclops Actor Tye Sheridan Shares “I’m Not Real Sure” Update About His MCU Return

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of comic book movie marathons under my belt, I can confidently say that the anticipation for Marvel’s next move with Cyclops is as palpable as the tension between Magneto and Professor X. Tye Sheridan‘s recent comments about his potential return as Scott Summers have left us fans in a state of Cyclopean curiosity.

Tye Sheridan portrayed the character Scott Summers, more commonly known as Cyclops, in the movies X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool 2, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Following the X-Men’s integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe post-“Avengers: Secret Wars,” fans continue to wonder whether the original X-Men cast members will reprise their roles or if fresh faces will step into those characters.

Up until now, we’ve watched Patrick Stewart return to the character of Charles Xavier in the movie “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, even though it wasn’t the same Charles as appeared in the Fox X-Men films.

In addition, Beast has made an appearance in the mid-credits scene of The Marvels, with Kelsey Grammer taking on the role. Interestingly, Grammer had previously portrayed Hank in X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past as well.

More recently, several X-Men characters have made appearances in the movie titled “Deadpool & Wolverine“. Among them, Hugh Jackman reappeared as Logan, Brianna Hildebrand took on her character Negasonic Teenage Warhead from “Deadpool” and “Deadpool 2“, while Colossus, Shatterstar, X-23, and Gambit were also featured.

A character not yet introduced is Scott Summers. Previously, he was portrayed by James Marsden in the films X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men: The Last Stand; by Tim Pocock in X-Men Origins: Wolverine; and by Tye Sheridan in X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool 2, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Online fans have been passionately discussing the possibility of either Tye or Marsden reprising their role as Cyclops. More recently, Tye has shared some insights about his potential comeback, though he didn’t sound overly optimistic; he hasn’t definitively said no to returning.

It’s uncertain, but it seems that there are many tales left untold. Whether the public has an appetite for these stories and whether we’ve reached a saturation point with this type of film or not is debatable. Perhaps, a fresh approach could make these films appealing again. However, I can’t say for certain.

It appears that Marvel Studios has not contacted Tye as of now, or he’s unable to discuss anything publicly at this time. However, this might be welcomed by fans who are hoping for his return as Cyclops, as it suggests the door is still open for the possibility.

If Marvel chooses to reintroduce him, there’s a strong possibility they will offer an enticing deal, potentially leading to Tye taking on the role of Cyclops within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
