WWE has formally declared their purchase of AAA, the leading Mexican wrestling promotion, in collaboration with the Mexican sports and entertainment company Fillip.
The news dropped during the WrestleMania 41 Countdown show in Las Vegas.

WWE Expands into Lucha Libre
Established in 1992 by Antonio Peña, AAA has gained a substantial fanbase featuring greats such as Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, and Penta. Now, WWE and Filipp are merging AAA into the TKO Group family. The Peña family will continue to play an active role.

In the terms of this agreement, WWE and AAA are set to introduce a fresh collaboration, titled “Worlds Collide“. This exciting crossover event is scheduled for Saturday, June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The show will display performers hailing from both organizations.

Deal Timeline
The takeover is anticipated to be finalized in the third quarter of 2025, subject to routine authorizations. WWE and Fillip will manage the transfer process, while the Peña family will continue to provide guidance for the AAA brand.
