Navigate the symphony skillfully using the optimal Wuthering Waves Phrolova setup. This exceptional 5-Star Resonator, armed with a Rectifier and dishing out Havoc damage, serves as an incredibly potent Main DPS that doesn’t need any external assistance to unleash destruction. It can even function as a Sub DPS in certain team compositions. However, be aware that her kit description is almost as complex as the Silmarillion and includes many unnecessary elements you won’t use in practical applications. In truth, it might be beneficial to refresh your understanding of music theory to fully grasp it — I’m not joking!
As a gamer, I’ve got it down to this: Phrolova controls Hecate in combat, using her moves to deal damage on and off the battlefield. The type of tunes Phrolova is playing through my input determines how Hecate fights. She can choose from three distinct notes to create these melodies, which consist of a total of six unique notes.
- String: Basic Attack 3 or Enhanced Basic Attack, stagnates enemies.
- Wind: Skill or Enhanced Skill, groups up enemies.
- Cadenza: Intro or Echo Skill, combines String and Wind notes’ effects.
After performing the Basic Attack or Skill for the third time, both the Advanced Basic Attack and Advanced Skill become accessible. This allows you to make multiple such entries during each cycle (instead of just one Cadenza note). The Intro Skill seamlessly transitions into Basic Attack 3, speeding up the sequence even more at the beginning.
As a gamer, I don’t need to worry about spending Resonance Energy with Phrolova’s Resonance Liberation. Instead, it empowers Hecate to launch attacks from the sidelines and gives Phrolova a massive attack boost for herself. To activate this ability, all I have to do is execute a Heavy Attack after crafting a six-note melody with Forte. Once activated, I can replace Phrolova with Hecate, who continues to support my next Resonator in battle.
Phrolova’s ability to inflict significant damage in battles increases progressively due to the accumulation of Critical Damage and Forte Heavy Attack Damage over time. This amplification effect becomes more pronounced as the battle unfolds. Furthermore, her Outro Skill serves to boost both Havoc and Heavy Damage, making her an exceptionally powerful member when paired with Havoc teams.
In other words, having multiple copies of her increases the potency of Sequence Nodes 2 and 3 significantly, particularly enhancing their Damage Per Second (DPS). Furthermore, Sequence Node 4 further amplifies Phrolova’s role as a Sub Damage Per Second (Sub DPS) character.
Best Phrolova weapons – Wuthering Waves
Using Phrolova’s signature weapon, Lethean Elegy, is crucial as it significantly boosts her Attack and Critical Rate, enhances Resonance Skill Damage and Echo Skill Damage Amplification for a certain period after dealing Echo Skill Damage. Moreover, this temporary effect allows Phrolova to partially ignore the Defense of her targets. Consequently, it might be wise to obtain both Phrolova and Lethean Elegy, or forego them entirely if you don’t plan on using her optimally.
Best Phrolova weapons in WuWa:
- Lethean Elegy (5-Star)
- Stringmaster (5-Star)
- Whispers of Sirens (5-Star)
- Rime-Draped Sprouts (5-Star)
- Cosmic Ripples (5-Star)
- Augment (4-Star)
- Fusion Accretion (4-Star)
Best Phrolova Echoes – Wuthering Waves
Phrolova entered the game equipped with a unique Sonata Effects accessory called Dream of the Lost, specifically designed for her. This artifact boosts Critical Rate and Echo Skill Damage when the user has no Resonance Energy, a state that Phrolova consistently maintains. With only three slots occupied, it leaves room for two additional Havoc Eclipse or Midnight Veil Echoes to increase Havoc Damage. Nightmare – Hecate serves as an ideal Main Echo for her, offering further enhancements in Havoc and Echo Skill Damage.
When considering the statistics for Phrolova, it’s possible to disregard Energy Regeneration entirely and focus solely on enhancing offensive traits instead.
Best Phrolova Echoes in WuWa:
- Sonata Effect: Dream of the Lost (3-Set) + Havoc Eclipse (2-Set) / Midnight Veil (2-Set)
- Main Echo: Nightmare – Hecate
Best Echoes main stats for Phrolova in WuWa:

Best Phrolova teams – Wuthering Waves
Phrolova shines most as a Main Damage Per-Second (DPS) member on a team, yet she’s also proficient as a Sub DPS due to the boosts and off-field advantages she offers. Her versatility is particularly notable when it comes to her own support units, as the potency of her self-buffs lessens the importance of support characters for her, compared to other Resonators.
- Phrolova (Main DPS), Roccia (Sub DPS), Cantarella (Support)
In simpler terms, Cantarella is an ideal fit for any Phrolova squad due to her exceptional provision of Havoc and Resonance Skill damage. A potential drawback of Cantarella as a support – her relatively low energy regeneration for the team – becomes irrelevant when it comes to the Main DPS. Roccia, on the other hand, offers an overall attack boost that benefits both Phrolova and Cantarella. When paired with Cantarella, Roccia can alternate with Hecate while Phrolova’s abilities are on cooldown, creating a highly effective team.
The Shorekeeper is an excellent choice in the support position, and Phoebe becomes a potent Main Damage Dealer if you’re planning to use Phrolova as a Sub Damage Dealer due to her Heavy Attack Damage increase. This unexpected duo performs exceptionally well together.
The Shorekeeper is a fantastic support character, and when used with Phrolova in the sub-damage dealer role, Phoebe can deal massive damage thanks to her increased heavy attack damage. Despite their different themes, they work seamlessly together.
Phrolova ascension materials – Wuthering Waves
When Phrolova becomes a part of your squad, it’s advisable to boost her rank at the earliest opportunity. To do this, you will need the following resources:
- LF Polygon Core x4
- MF Polygon Core x12
- HF Polygon Core x12
- FF Polygon Core x4
- Truth in Lies x46
- Afterlife x60
- Shell Credits x170,000
As a gamer, I’ve found that Polygon Cores drop from various Tacet Discords wandering the map and can also be earned during Forgery Challenges. Truth in Lies is obtained by defeating Fenrico in the Deliverance in the Deep challenge, while Afterlife is a unique find within the Beyond. The Training Grounds offer the most efficient way to accumulate Shell Credits through Simulation Challenges.
Apart from enhancing Phrolova’s overall rank, it’s essential to improve each of her abilities as well. To do that, gather these necessary items:
In this sentence, I’ve replaced “leveling” with “enhancing Phrolova’s overall rank”, which is a more natural way of saying it, and I used “improve” instead of “upgrade all of her skills”. Additionally, I provided a clearer explanation by stating that the materials are necessary for this task.
- LF Polygon Core x25
- MF Polygon Core x28
- HF Polygon Core x40
- FF Polygon Core x57
- Lento Helix x25
- Adagio Helix x28
- Andante Helix x55
- Presto Helix x67
- The Netherworld’s Stare x26
- Shell Credits x2,030,000
To review, the materials previously listed are available for check above. You can cultivate Lento Helix and its variations within the Forgery Challenge: Misty Forest and Abyss of Initiation, either through the Guidebook or purchasing them in small quantities from Uncle Wei in Jinzhou. The Netherworld’s Stare is a drop from Hecate.
