Wuthering Waves – Galbrena build and materials guide

Dominate your enemies with the optimal Galbrena build in Wuthering Waves and deliver the finishing blow. Galbrena is a powerful 5-Star character who uses Pistols and deals Fusion damage. She’s best used as your team’s main damage dealer, working alongside her companion, Chimera.

Okay, so as a Galbrena player, here’s how her resources work: when a fight starts, she’s in this ‘Threshold State’ and starts building up two things – Afterflame and Sinflame. She can store up to 40 Afterflame, and the cool part is, she gets it back whenever my teammates use their special ‘Echo Skills’. For Sinflame, she can hold up to 100, and I build that up just by attacking – with regular attacks, heavy hits, even when she’s in the air! Her Resonance and Intro skills also give me Sinflame, so I’m always building it up just by playing!

Once Galbrena accumulates 100 Sinflame, she transforms into the Demon Hypostasis, gaining access to a new Resonance Skill. This transformation converts all her Sinflame into Purging Flame. While in this state, Galbrena’s basic, heavy, and mid-air attacks, as well as her Resonance Skill, all change and consume Purging Flame, dealing additional Fusion damage.

Galbrena primarily deals damage as if it were from Heavy Attacks. The last strike of her regular attack sequence, and also the final hit of her Heavy Attack during battles with the Demon Hypostasis, are categorized as Echo Skill damage.

Demon Hypostasis lets Galbrena use a move called Hellstride, which helps her avoid attacks and strike back while she’s using her skills. When Galbrena uses skills while in Demon Hypostasis, she also becomes more resistant to being interrupted and gains increased attack power.

Afterflame boosts the damage of your abilities when fighting the Demon Hypostasis. This bonus resets after 50 seconds, or when you run out of Purging Flame.

Galbrena’s Resonance Liberation temporarily increases the damage of all of the Demon Hypostasis’ attacks, in addition to its existing Fusion damage.

Galbrena can weaken enemies, making them more vulnerable to her attacks. She can also regain Stamina by using specific moves.

Her Resonance Chain primarily boosts her own damage. However, reaching Node 4 gives the whole team an increase to all damage types whenever a teammate uses an Echo Skill.

Best Galbrena weapons – Wuthering Waves

Okay, so Galbrena’s special pistols, Lux & Umbra, are seriously good. They boost my attack power *and* my critical hit damage, which is awesome. But here’s the really cool part: whenever I land a hit with her Echo Skill, my next heavy attack gets a damage boost, and if I land a heavy attack first, her Echo Skill gets stronger! Basically, they make both of her main ways to deal damage even better. And if I can keep both of those buffs active at the same time, I can actually ignore some of the enemy’s defense, which means even *more* damage! It’s a really powerful combo.

Best Galbrena weapons in WuWa:

  • Lux & Umbra (5-Star)
  • Static Mist (5-Star)
  • Last Dance (5-Star)
  • Solar Flame (4-Star)
  • Romance in Farewell (4-Star)

Best Galbrena Echoes – Wuthering Waves

The Flamewing’s Shadow Sonata effect boosts a character’s chance to critically hit with heavy attacks after using their Echo Skills, and vice versa. Galbrena frequently deals both types of damage, allowing her to maintain these buffs constantly and increase her overall Fusion damage. She can further enhance this Fusion damage with either the Molten Rift or Flaming Clawprint set.

Okay, so I’ve been looking into Galbrena, and her 4-Cost Echoes aren’t the greatest. Honestly, I think the 3-Cost Echo Corrosaurus is the way to go as her main Echo. It really boosts her Fusion and Echo Skill damage, which is awesome!

Best Galbrena Echoes in WuWa:

  • Sonata Effect: Flamewing’s Shadow (3-Set) + Molten Rift (2-Set) OR Flaming Clawprint (2-Set)
  • Main Echo: Corrosaurus

Best Echoes main stats for Galbrena in WuWa:

  • 4 Cost: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG

Best Galbrena teams – Wuthering Waves

Galbrena excels as a primary damage dealer, working well in teams that focus on either mixed or single elemental types. She performs best with teammates who don’t need to be on the field constantly, as she’s most effective when actively fighting.

  • Galbrena (Main DPS), Lupa (Sub DPS), Brant (Support)

Lupa is a strong secondary damage dealer for Galbrena because she significantly increases Fusion damage. Brant also boosts Fusion damage and provides healing. If your team doesn’t need healing, you can replace Brant with Mortefi or Changli instead.

  • Galbrena (Main DPS), Iuno (Sub DPS), Shorekeeper (Support)

Instead of teams built around Mono-Fusion, Iuno is a great secondary damage dealer for Galbrena because her skill significantly increases Heavy Attack damage. As always, Shorekeeper supports the team with various benefits and helps keep everyone alive.

The new character, Qiuyuan, will work best with Galbrena, so if you want to get the most out of Galbrena, be sure to team them up with either Lupa or Shorekeeper.
