Wonder Woman Game Canceled: Is Wokeness to Blame for Warner Bros’ Latest Disaster?

Fresh information has surfaced regarding the “Wonder Woman” video game, with hints as to why it might not have been released – and it appears that the game could have been exceptionally progressive or ‘woke’.

Warner Bros., having suffered a financial loss of approximately $200 million due to the underperformance of their controversial “Suicide Squad” game, appears to have learned from their past mistakes and opted not to repeat them in their latest projects. The upcoming “Wonder Woman” game was unveiled post the controversy surrounding “Wonder Woman 1984,” where Pedro Pascal portrayed a villain inspired by Trump. The film also sparked outrage due to an included male rape scene, which the director found amusing.

It’s intriguing to note that allegedly, Warner Bros. had invested around $100 million in the ‘Wonder Woman’ video game. If the statements are accurate – that the game didn’t falter or flop – then one might wonder why Warner Bros. decided to scrap it?

According to their recent statement, WB Games has decided to concentrate on well-established intellectual properties such as Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, DC’s Batman, and the world of Game of Thrones.

Recently, it has been reported that the Chinese company NetEase parted ways with the developers from Marvel Rivals in Seattle. The reason given for this separation is that the team was allegedly perceived as being unproductive, self-entitled, sluggish, and overly focused on social issues (often referred to as “woke”).

What are the Wonder Woman video game details?

“The world really needed the story we were telling”

It’s quite stirring to find out that the “Wonder Woman” video game boasts an exceptional and profoundly impactful narrative.

In a challenging period, the team member known as Tracy, preferring they/them pronouns, contributed by saying, “Given how tough things have been lately, I strongly felt that our game’s story was exactly what the world needed.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel that the Wonder Woman game appears to prioritize sending a message over delivering an engaging storyline and gameplay experience. It seems that some franchises have adopted this approach in the past, with Disney’s Star Wars, Marvel, Doctor Who, among others, suffering from well-known missteps as a result.

“We are lucky the game is cancelled”

Grummz on X comments, “If it’s accurate that Wonder Woman embodies the narrative we’re sharing, then the statement ‘I felt the world really needed this story’ can be interpreted as: ‘We were prepared to transform our game into a tool for resistance and assert dominance over certain groups.’ Given that the game has been cancelled, we’re fortunate indeed.

Gail Simone served as a consultant

Additionally, the discovery that DC Comics writer Gail Simone was involved as a consultant adds further concerns to the project.

It’s said that Simone is associated with a progressive collective of female and trans comic book designers, named “The Whisper Network.” This group appears to target and criticize male comic book creators, intending to exclude them and promote their own members instead. Moreover, it’s known that she experienced a strong emotional reaction when Trump was re-elected.

Regarding the Wonder Woman video game, it’s no secret now since I’ve been mentioned as a consultant elsewhere. I’d like to share a few key points about this game and the fantastic team behind it.

As a passionate fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I was given the opportunity to work long-term on a game featuring none other than Wonder Woman. With my love for video games and admiration for Monolith Productions, creators of the phenomenal Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor series that had me hooked, this project was simply too good to be true. It felt like the perfect convergence of my passions.

The game was stunningly vast and visually appealing. It was a joy to behold. I won’t delve into specifics for various reasons, but every effort was taken to transform this game into not just an excellent one, but an exceptional WONDER WOMAN game. A masterful epic.

The success was entirely due to our incredible team. Each member gave their best, from programmers to artists and designers. It’s hard to recall another team as dedicated as this one in ensuring the final outcome was flawless.

Realizing a long-cherished aspiration, I found myself working alongside an exceptional group – a dream team, if you will. Together, we poured our heart and soul into this project. We ensured that it was brimming with references to Wonder Woman and DC lore in every facet of the game design. It was exhilarating and humbling to collaborate with such talented individuals.

It’s clear that blame is being passed around, but the individuals I collaborated with from Monolith and WB were all passionate and encouraging. They were collectively driven to create an exceptional game.

Occasionally, you put in your best effort but things don’t go as planned. Yet, this team was exceptional and I can merely wish that they keep producing outstanding games. Eventually, someone will recognize their potential and raise the bar in the industry, I am certain of it.
