State of Play Reveal
This news comes after September’s State of Play event, where the first complete trailer for the new PS5 exclusive was shown. The game surprised players with its intense, mature themes and violent action – a big change from Insomniac’s typically more cheerful Spider-Man titles.
The trailer briefly showed key characters like Mystique (which caused some negative reactions from fans), Omega Red, and a very large Sentinel. It also hinted at several settings, including Madripoor, Tokyo, and the forests of Canada.
Building Hype
Confirmation of the release timeframe indicates Insomniac is well underway with development, and they plan to share more gameplay footage in Spring 2026. The team is striving to create the definitive Wolverine game, featuring brutal claw combat with dismemberment, intense berserker rage abilities, and a gritty story where Logan faces his troubled history.
