In an unexpected turn of events, it’s been made clear by WME (William Morris Endeavor), the agency that manages Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, that they did not exert any influence on their decision to part ways with Justin Baldoni. This clarification was issued after Baldoni, who acted alongside Lively in ‘It Ends With Us’, initiated a lawsuit against ‘The New York Times’.
Baldoni alleges that the newspaper is working together with Lively’s team to disseminate untrue details, disregarding crucial evidence that contradicts their assertions.
The situation became more intense when Baldoni accused Reynolds of putting pressure on his agency (WME) during the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, to end their relationship. However, WME denies this allegation, explaining that Baldoni’s representative was not present at the premiere and neither Reynolds nor Lively played a role in the decision to part ways with Baldoni.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, their official statement reads as follows:
According to Baldoni’s records, it’s stated that Reynolds attempted to force Baldoni’s agent during the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere. This claim is false. Baldoni’s previous representative was not present at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere, and neither Reynolds nor Lively ever exerted pressure on Baldoni to drop him as a client at any point in time.
The circumstances became more complicated when it was revealed that Lively had filed a lawsuit claiming Baldoni sexually harassed her. This suit, submitted at the federal court in New York, asserts that Baldoni and his associates initiated a defamation campaign to tarnish Lively’s reputation after she accused them of unsuitable conduct on the set of It Ends With Us.
In her thorough grievance, Lively describes multiple occurrences such as Baldoni proposing an uncensored explicit love scene without approval and making uncomfortable remarks concerning her private affairs.
Additionally, she asserts that the producer, Jamey Heath, breached her privacy by entering her trailer unsolicited when she was only half-dressed. Lively maintains that she had consistently voiced concerns regarding inappropriate conduct on set, which she alleges went unheeded.
In the midst of these ongoing court disputes, the strain between the two celebrities and their camps persists unabated, as each party continues to staunchly defend their version of the occurrences.
