As a seasoned movie critic with over three decades of watching television under my belt, I’ve seen countless shows come and go, but few have left as lasting an impression as ‘Full House.’ It was a staple of my childhood, a beacon of light amidst the darkness that was the 90s. I remember staying up past my bedtime to catch the latest episode, my eyes glued to the screen as the Tanner family navigated their chaotic yet heartwarming lives.
Fast forward to today, and the prospect of a ‘Full House’ reboot has been a topic of much discussion among fans. I must admit, the idea of seeing DJ Tanner once more in her iconic red dress had my heart racing with anticipation. However, it seems that fate may have other plans.
Candace Cameron Bure, the actress who brought DJ to life, recently shared her thoughts on the matter, and alas, it seems that our dreams of a reboot may never come to fruition. While I understand that the entertainment industry is ever-evolving, and that not every show can have a happy ending, this news has left me with a heavy heart.
But hey, who knows? Perhaps one day we’ll all be gathered around our televisions once more, watching the Tanner clan navigate their lives in San Francisco. Until then, I’ll just keep rewatching ‘Fuller House’ and living in hope. And if DJ ever does make a surprise return, well, I guess I’ll have to update my will to include a clause forbidding anyone from telling me about it before I’ve finished watching the episode!
‘Full House’, an iconic American television sitcom, ran from 1987 to 1995. This show centered around Danny Tanner, a widowed father living in San Francisco, who was assisted by his brother-in-law Jesse and friend Joey in raising his three daughters. Despite not being particularly acclaimed by critics, it garnered immense popularity during re-runs, eventually leading to the creation of a follow-up series titled ‘Fuller House’ which streamed on Netflix from 2016 to 2020.
2 years past, some actors from the program mentioned the prospect of a third installment. This suggestion emerged during their conversation about how various age groups, such as mothers introducing their daughters, have found common ground in the show’s appeal.
Andrea Barber expressed that it was a complete circle experience, as mothers who originally watched the program are now passing it on to their own children.
It’s heartwarming to witness numerous mothers accompanying their young daughters. It’s a beautiful full-circle experience to observe these mothers, who once grew up alongside the original cast, now having their own daughters grow up in the company of ‘Fuller House’.

Four years have passed since Netflix released the sequel to “Full House,” and Candace Cameron Bure recently discussed the prospect of reprising her role as DJ Tanner. Although she appeared in “Fuller House,” she clarified in a recent interview that there are currently no plans for a revival of “Full House.” She went on to express that fans’ dreams of another spinoff will not materialize.
As far as I know, no such conversations regarding another season of Fuller House have taken place. However, if there was ever a possibility, I believe everyone would jump at the chance. After all, we’ve remained quite connected since then.
