Will Prince William And Kate Middleton Skip King Charles’ Pre-Christmas Lunch? Here’s What We Know

As a lifestyle expert with extensive knowledge of the royal family and their inner workings, I find it intriguing to observe how the royals navigate through challenging times like they have this year. The upcoming Christmas celebration at Sandringham will undoubtedly be a momentous occasion for them, marking the first one without Queen Elizabeth as the reigning monarch.

Instead of attending King Charles’ pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, Prince William and Kate Middleton (often referred to as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) have chosen to travel to Norfolk early for the upcoming festivities next week. According to recent reports, their plan was never to participate in the royal family’s events this season. Instead, they will reunite with the royal family at Sandringham during the celebrations.

Besides the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are also expected to miss pre-Christmas gatherings due to the former’s association with a suspected Chinese spy who has been making news recently.

Although the monarch has invited his brother and the Duchess of York, it’s clear that the Duke prefers to maintain a distance from any potential controversies. As a result, he won’t be attending the family gathering at the Sandringham estate alongside the King.

Regarding the pre-Christmas meal, it’s a longstanding tradition in the British royal household that originated with Queen Elizabeth and is now being upheld by the current monarch.

2021’s Christmas carries significant significance for the royal family, who have experienced a challenging year. Both Kate Middleton and King Charles have faced serious health issues following their cancer diagnoses.

In September, Kate, the Princess, shared that after focusing on her health and family during challenging periods, she had finished her chemotherapy treatments. Although she’s not yet at full strength, she plans to resume her public responsibilities.

Before the holiday season, the Princess of Wales, together with her family, organized a Carol Service. Over 1600 distinguished guests were invited to attend this event, followed by a performance of ballet dancing.

Previously, someone close to a member of the royal family disclosed that Middleton’s fight against cancer has brought about a profound change within her. In an interview with People Magazine, this confidant revealed, “It’s impossible not to be affected when going through such an experience.” They continued, “She is now a changed individual.

Instead of solely identifying herself as a mother of three, the princess must also consider her role as a future queen. Consequently, she tends to place herself before others when making decisions or prioritizing tasks.

Currently, the members of the royal family eagerly anticipate spending Christmas as a group at the Sandringham estate.
