Will New Girl Cast Return For A Reunion Season? Find Out As Jake Johnson Claims ‘Lamorne Won’t Do It’

As a lifestyle expert with a soft spot for nostalgia and a deep appreciation for the art of television, I must say that the prospect of a New Girl reunion has me more excited than Nick Miller could ever be about a Schmidt business venture.

For years now, “New Girl” has been hailed as one of television’s most successful series. Viewers were captivated by the palpable camaraderie among the cast members, which only heightened their anticipation for a reunion season. Fans eagerly await the return of Zooey Deschanel and Hannah Simone alongside the male characters in the group.

During an exclusive chat with People Magazine, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris, and Damon Wayans Jr. shared memories and reminisced about their time on the show, as well as some amusing incidents that took place on the set of the popular sitcom.

Over the course of the discussion, the actors entertained the idea of a reunion. When questioned about a possible gathering, Johnson, portraying the character Nick, provided a humorous yet plausible reply.

He revealed, “You want the facts? Lamorne won’t do it after his Emmy. He’s got an Emmy clause. That’s real talk. He’s going to spin it right now but that’s real.” The Tag actor further added, “So Fox was ready; we were ready. Damon was back and [Lamorne] did that speech.”

Despite Johnson’s statement suggesting that Lamorne’s Emmy victory was merely an alibi, he explained that in truth, the actors lack the vigor to convene for a reunion. The actor further added that they remain open to the prospect of reuniting if an appealing opportunity arises.

Simultaneously, Greenfield disclosed that it is not up to the cast members to organize the reunion, but rather the responsibility lies with the show’s creator, Liz Meriwether, who has the ability to draft a fresh script for the gathering.

The Unfrosted speaker continued by saying, “It’s mostly about Liz Meriwether, the show’s creator, and what she might change, direct, or decide on a reunion. Essentially, it depends on her choices and how she wants to proceed.

Wayans expressed his belief that Liz has a good sense of humor and it would undoubtedly be wonderful if she collaborated on projects.

For seven seasons, from 2011 to 2018, the popular sitcom “New Girl” graced the screens of the Fox television network. Now, you can catch up on all its episodes by streaming them on Disney+.
