Will Meghan Markle’s Royal HRH Title Be Stripped Off By Prince William Once He Becomes King? Insider Reveals

It’s said that Prince William may take away the “His/Her Royal Highness” (HRH) titles from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry when he ascends the throne, as reported by a source close to the royal family and shared by The Daily Beast. This action would signify a change in approach compared to King Charles III’s current stance, which seems more permissive towards the couple’s occasional use of their titles even though they stepped away from royal duties in 2020.

According to the source, Charles might tolerate this situation, but William strongly dislikes Harry and Meghan. In fact, he deeply detests them, and he feels they’ve betrayed everything the family represents. To him, it’s infuriating that they’re leveraging their royal status as an introduction to opportunities.

The dispute resurfaced when Meghan Markle added her HRH title to a thoughtful gift basket she shared with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima, which included homemade strawberry sauce and was signed as “Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex.” This gesture was highlighted in a clip from Kern Lima’s podcast.

Detractors claim this action disregarded the conditions set in the understanding between Meghan and Harry and Queen Elizabeth II when they chose to step away. Previously employed courtier informed The Daily Beast that “The terms explicitly stated they had agreed not to utilize the HRH titles under any circumstances, now or in the future.

A representative speaking on behalf of Meghan Markle clarified that there’s been no misconduct. They explained that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to hold their HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles, but as part of an arrangement, they won’t employ these titles in commercial ventures. However, the spokesperson added that even though they don’t publicly utilize HRH, their personal gifts and titles remain unchanged.

Yet, some royal experts allegedly expressed differing opinions. A confidant of Prince William argued that Meghan’s retention of the HRH title indicates King Charles’ vulnerability, implying that William would not permit such behavior when he ascends the throne. As stated by the source, the titles will supposedly be revoked once William becomes king, and a strategy will be devised to carry out this change.

In 2020, the couple stepped down from their royal duties and officially chose to stop using their HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles. This decision was approved by the late Queen Elizabeth II and it was clearly stated that since they’re no longer part of the working royal family, they would not employ their HRH titles anymore.

After relocating to California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have embarked on various personal endeavors, such as Meghan’s lifestyle business, As Ever, and a Netflix production called “With Love, Meghan.” In spite of continued criticism, this venture has garnered interest, and many of its inaugural items have already been purchased.
