People Magazine reported that Kimmel won’t be coming back to host the Oscars in 2025, which might disappoint many viewers.

2025 marks the year when Jimmy won’t be performing on stage at the Academy Awards, as Kimmel, who has hosted the Oscars four times in the past (in 2017 and 2018), is not scheduled to host again. The ceremony was conducted without a host from 2019 through 2021.

In 2022, Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer took turns hosting the highly-anticipated event. The following year, he came back to host once again, and later did so in 2024. Remarkably, the ratings from the previous year reached an impressive peak with a record-breaking audience of 19.5 million viewers tuning in.

Previously, he had discussed with the publication about getting ready for his performance from last year. He expressed, “Maintaining the flow of the show is the primary difficulty. It’s all about knowing when to step in and contribute, and when to stay behind.”

Kimmel is well-known for hosting his own hit talk show, but he also takes on the role of host for ABC’s game show named “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.”
