In an interview for Politickin Podcast, the popular TV host admitted that the Oscar rehearsals often conflicted with his talk show, leading to a noticeable drop in its quality. Kimmel further explained, “It’s challenging. It requires a lot of effort, and unfortunately, my nightly show takes a hit when I’m immersed in preparing for the Oscars. In other words, during the Oscar season, I’m more preoccupied with the Oscars, which means less attention for the show.

Additionally, he mentioned, “I simply chose not to handle that this time around. It was excessively burdensome last year. As a result, I kept postponing everything until after the Oscars, and then I had to fulfill all the commitments I made after the Oscars.

Jimmy Kimmel has been the host for the Academy Awards on four occasions, emulating renowned figures such as Ellen DeGeneres, Billy Crystal, and Whoopi Goldberg in this role.

Jimmy Kimmel has been linked to Jimmy Kimmel Live! starting from 2003. This long-time host and comedian has garnered acclaim for the unique structure of the show, and moreover, ABC’s support has helped it become one of the longest-running TV programs in existence.
