According to reports, James Gunn is set to return as the director for the upcoming DC movie. After the success of Superman, it has been announced that David Zaslav, the producer at Warner Bros. Studios, expects Gunn to write and direct the new chapter in the “super-family” series.
Earlier this week, Gunn disclosed during a media tour for his latest film that he’s currently developing a follow-up to the Superman movie, with David Corenswet set to return as the iconic hero.
In reply to a fan’s question, the head of DC revealed that “Peacemaker press” and work on a sequel are underway. He clarified further that this isn’t a continuation of Superman 2, but rather a movie featuring a significant role for Superman in the same film.
Upcoming DC projects
Although specifics about the upcoming Superman movie are still secret, DC has several other projects in the works. Right now, James Gunn is working on Season 2 of Peacemaker. Also, the studio plans to release Super Girl soon, as they recently revealed a poster for the film online. Additionally, filming for Clayface is set to start by the end of this year.
As I sat down for an engaging chat with CBS Mornings, I eagerly expressed my excitement about our upcoming project, “Clayface.” While it’s rooted in the same captivating universe as before, this time around, we’re venturing into uncharted territories – crafting a chilling horror film that promises to be a refreshing departure from the norm. It’s one of the many innovative elements that sets our work apart and keeps audiences on their toes!
In my expert opinion, I’d say each creative endeavor, whether it’s a company or a film production, isn’t confined to a single style. Instead, it’s the unique blend of artists, directors, and writers that give each project its distinctive flavor. We aim to keep things fresh and engaging, so boredom is never an option!
Work on The Batman Sequel, titled The Batman: Part II, is underway at the studios. While James Gunn oversees the production, he’s shared that the film featuring Robert Pattinson will be released under the Elseworlds banner instead of DC Studios.
Regarding Superman, the film was highly appreciated by viewers, with audiences particularly enjoying the on-screen dynamic between David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, who played Superman and Lois Lane in the movie.
Meanwhile, further details on the upcoming DC projects will be rolled out soon.
