After its debut in 2022, Heartstopper was renewed for two more seasons by Netflix, with the announcement following just a month after the first season’s release. But as five months have gone by since the airing of season 3, no new information about the show’s future has been disclosed by Netflix yet.

Meanwhile, the streaming platform shared their semi-annual report on what viewers have been watching, offering insights into their performance over the past few months.

Based on a Deadline report, the third season of Heartstopper garnered approximately 10.9 million views from its October 3 release until the end of 2024. This impressive viewership helped it secure the 130th spot among all Netflix series from June to December in the previous year.

In case you’re unaware, the program managed to secure a spot in Netflix’s global Top 10 for two weeks, peaking at number 4. Moving on to its second season, it was launched on August 3, 2023, and garnered approximately 16.5 million views during the latter part of that year. During this period, the series ranked 59th in Netflix’s July-December 2023 report, with a notable weekly Top 10 placement at number 2.

During the same time frame after its premiere, Season 3 of the series featuring Kit Conor and Joe Locke garnered approximately 11.6 million views. Although the report indicates it’s neither exceptional nor poor, the first two seasons of the show accumulated a total of 8.8 million more views in the last six months of 2024.

The outlet indicated that Heartstopper is likely to continue with a fourth season, as they consider the numbers involved to be quite substantial.
