As a dedicated follower and admirer of Elizabeth Olsen‘s work, I can’t help but be captivated by her journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From her humble beginnings as a supporting character in Avengers: Age of Ultron to her powerful portrayal of Scarlet Witch, she has truly embodied the spirit of resilience and transformation.
Over time, many of us have appreciated how Elizabeth Olsen’s character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has developed. In a recent interview, the actress who played Godzilla shared insights about her feelings towards her part in the superhero series and discussed candidly her journey portraying the Scarlet Witch.
Speaking on FM104, Elizabeth Olsen expressed her fondness for returning to her character. She mentioned that she enjoys doing so when there’s an opportunity to utilize her effectively, and she feels fortunate because when she first began, she was used in a way that was effective.
Moreover, she expressed that Marvel Studios appeared to be struggling with providing a clear path for her character within the franchise.
Since 2015, Elizabeth Olsen has portrayed the character Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch. However, she expresses a desire to reprise her role, but only if there’s a compelling and well-written plot for her character.
In the film “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Elizabeth Olsen made her debut as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She shared the screen with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who portrayed their onscreen brother Quick Silver. As the story progressed, Wanda, played by Olsen, displayed a courageous and unforeseen character evolution. She became strong and assertive, even developing romantic feelings for Paul Bettany’s character, Vision.
Her character was deeply valued in the movies, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, leading to the creation of Disney+’s debut series, WandaVision.
In this scenario, she portrayed various roles: a caring mother, a valiant superhero, a devoted wife, and even a mystical figure casting spells over an entire town. Simultaneously, the character and the series received widespread acclaim for their innovative approach, blending multiple styles appealing to viewers of diverse generations.
Next arrived the sequel to Doctor Strange, featuring Elizabeth Olsen’s character, the Scarlet Witch, as the main adversary.
In a past conversation with Vanity Fair, Olsen expressed her disappointment about the lack of dialogue between the writers of WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness. At that time, she noted that her character’s role was quite similar in both series, with limited character growth.
Although there’s no official news yet on whether Elizabeth Olsen will reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you can still enjoy her acting skills in the film titled “His Three Daughters”.
On September 6, 2024, his film titled “His Three Daughters” premiered in theaters. Subsequently, it will become available for streaming on Netflix starting from September 20.
