As a long-time fan of the X-Men franchise, I must say that Dafne Keen’s surprise cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine was nothing short of exhilarating! Her portrayal of Laura Kinney/X-23 brought a fresh energy to the film and left me eagerly anticipating her future appearances in Marvel movies.
As a lifestyle expert, I can’t help but express my own enthusiasm over the unexpected appearance of Dafne Keen in Marvel’s most recent blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine. Her return as X-23 from the X-Men franchise has left fans buzzing about her future roles within the Marvel cinematic universe. In this latest film, she teamed up with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to battle the sinister forces of Cassandra Nova, making for an exhilarating onscreen collaboration!
Based on different media reports, it is possible that the actress portraying Wolverine’s adopted daughter in the films could reappear in upcoming Avengers movies like Doomsday and Secret Wars. In an early interview with Keen, this Hollywood star expressed her desire to delve deeper into her character within superhero flicks. She mentioned that the creators had only touched upon her character lightly due to her complexity, calling her “amazingly cool” from a fan’s perspective.
In the third Deadpool movie, I found myself offering emotional solace to a tougher-than-nails Wolverine, helping him gather the strength to take on Emma Corrin’s character. You might remember me as X-23, introduced back in 2019 when I joined the X-Men cast in Logan.
Prior to the major shakeups at Disney and Fox 20th Century Studios, there had been anticipation for an actress to star in a standalone film that would allow viewers to explore the younger version of Wolverine’s mutant character more intimately. Unfortunately, these plans did not come to fruition as Disney purchased Fox, leading to a merger with Marvel Studios.
In the second half of Deadpool & Wolverine, it was Dafne who joined the esteemed cast, adding star power that made the film a must-see for many.
Jennifer Garner took on the role of Elektra, joining Keen on set. Wesley Snipes reappeared in his famous Blade costume for the film. Channing Tatum made an appearance as Gambit. Alongside these newcomers, two familiar faces from the Marvel universe, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, also returned to the franchise.
Furthermore, Ryan Reynolds, in appreciation for Dafne Keen’s outstanding performance in the film, expressed his praise on Instagram with heartfelt comments. In his post, he stated, “When @dafnekeen joins #DeadpoolAndWolverine, her radiance illuminates the core of the movie. The sight of Dafne and Hugh together is a surreal experience. It builds upon the greatness of the Logan film, which is not only a masterpiece but also a towering achievement.”
Many fans eagerly await Dafne Keen’s reappearance in the forthcoming Marvel films. On the other hand, the movies “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars” are scheduled to premiere in cinemas in May 2026 and May 2027 respectively.
