Will Captain America: Brave New World Practically Show Bruce Banner’s Experience For Red Hulk? Here’s What Theory Says

As a long-time aficionado of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I must say that the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World has me more excited than a kid in a candy store. The introduction of Red Hulk, played by none other than the legendary Harrison Ford, is a game-changer.

For well over ten years now, Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Hulk has been a part of our screen experience. Initially brought to life by Edward Norton, this iconic character was subsequently played by yet another talented actor from the silver screen, Mark Ruffalo.

For some time now, we’ve missed seeing the full power of the Hulk in movies, but with Mark Ruffalo’s character, Bruce Banner, striking a deal between his human side and his gamma-infused other self, we’re soon going to enjoy the arrival of the Red Hulk in Captain America: New World.

In the fourth Captain America film, it is revealed that this other powerful character serves as the avatar of Thunderbolt Ross, a role taken up by Harrison Ford.

In the movie, longtime Marvel fans will find plenty of fresh twists, but the appearance of the Red Hulk could potentially make an ancient plot point relevant again.

According to Reddit user iamneel’s theory, it’s possible that the Red Hulk could undergo a similar event as what happened to Bruce Banner during The Avengers.

As a devoted follower, I ponder over the idea that perhaps Ross could encounter an identical ordeal as Banner narrated, having attempted suicide yet discovering he was unable to discard his destructive alternate self.

At this particular instance, Bruce Banner and his fellow Avengers are aboard the Helicarrier amidst a tense argument. Bruce then declares, “I bit down on a bullet, but another person spat it out.”

If that was the case with the green monster, it might be the same with the red one.

Based on what iamneel, a theorist, shared after viewing this year’s D23 footage, this situation appears to be quite plausible.

The footage from D23 reveals a scene where Harrison Ford’s character, Thunderbolt Ross, is positioned behind a podium. Suddenly, he topples backward and metamorphoses into the Red Hulk, emitting growls as he stands up again.

As per the Reddit user’s statement, such an event could occur if someone tries to assassinate President Ross at the White House. Much like Bruce Banner’s life-threatening situation leading to the transformation into the Incredible Hulk, it is possible that the Red Hulk will appear in order to shield Ross from being hit by a bullet.

The theorist proposed two possibilities: First, Ross could undergo a permanent transformation into the Red Hulk within the MCU. Second, Ford’s role might be limited, much like how stars such as Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, and others have made brief appearances in the franchise.

Enthusiasts of superheroes eagerly await the unveiling of the destiny and backstory of the Red Hulk, a revelation that will occur once the movie has premiered.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to be released on February 14, 2025.
