Will Britney Spears Still Pay Child Support to Ex Kevin Federline Despite Son Jayden Turning 18? REPORT

As a long-time Britney Spears fan who has witnessed her journey through thick and thin, I must say it’s heartwarming to see the resilience she continues to show, especially when it comes to her children. Despite the ups and downs of her personal life, she has always prioritized her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. It’s not surprising that even though they are now legal adults, she is likely to continue paying child support according to the laws in California.

Previously, Britney Spears was in a marriage with Kevin Federline, who are the parents of Sean Preston and Jayden James. Their union lasted nearly three years. In November 2006, Spears initiated the divorce process from Federline due to irreconcilable differences. Since then, they have peacefully shared parental responsibilities for their children. Recent news suggests that Spears will likely continue making child support payments to her ex-husband, despite their sons turning 18 years old. Find out more details here!

It is said that the child support arrangement between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline started as part of their divorce settlement in July 2007. According to reports, the terms of their divorce stipulated a child support agreement, with Spears obligated to make payments to Federline for the upkeep of their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

People magazine reports that, although Britney Spears’ sons Sean (turning 19 next month) and Jayden (who is already 18) are now legal adults, she may still be obligated to pay child support. Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin Federline’s attorney, explained to the publication that according to California law, child support payments must continue until the child completes high school, even if they turn 18.

Kaplan stated that under California’s legal guidelines, the obligation for child support persists until the minor child turns 18. However, if the child hasn’t completed high school by their 18th birthday, the obligation continues until they do so – but this extended period does not exceed their 19th birthday. He also mentioned that the child support payments for Jayden are being made in accordance with the law, which mandates support until high school graduation, and added that Jayden is expected to graduate in November.

According to a source, Britney Spears intends to carry on helping her sons with their future endeavors and remains committed to showing them constant love and support.

According to the magazine’s report, Jayden, their son, mentioned during a 2022 interview with The Daily Mail that he and his brother are confident that they can mend their relationship with their mother.

Jayden made it clear that he held no ill feelings towards his mother but acknowledged that mending their damaged relationship would be a significant undertaking. He voiced his conviction, stating, “It will take a great deal of time and energy,” further noting, “Once she recovers, I truly look forward to seeing her again.
