As a devoted fan who has followed Artem Chigvintsev‘s career for over a decade, it’s hard not to feel a twinge of disappointment with his sudden absence from Dancing with the Stars. From his electrifying performances to his heartwarming partnership with Kaitlyn Bristowe that finally brought him the Mirrorball Trophy in 2020, Artem has been an integral part of the show’s success.
Unfortunately, it appears Artem Chigvintsev won’t be gracing the Dancing with the Stars ballroom again this season. According to PEOPLE’s reports, there were no plans for him to participate in season 33, following his arrest on August 29th.
The star was arrested on charges of felony corporal injury to a spouse in Napa Valley, Calif. He was booked with a $25,000 bail and released later that day.
This season, Chigvintsev chose not to participate due to the usual practice among professional dancers, who frequently switch seasons depending on the availability and casting of celebrities.
Chigvintsev has appeared on Dancing with the Stars for the past 12 seasons, even making it to the last four. Alongside his season 29 dance partner Kaitlyn Bristowe, who was also a Bachelorette star, they won the competition in 2020.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all! The full lineup for the upcoming season of ABC’s dance competition will be unveiled on September 4, gracing our screens during Good Morning America. Leading the pack is none other than Olympic bronze medalist Stephen Nedoroscik, who has been announced as the first celebrity contestant.
Additionally, it appears that Nikki Garcia, previously known as Nikki Bella, is the woman involved. The occurrence happened only a day after their wedding anniversary. This event also coincided with when Garcia shared an Instagram Stories post, informing her followers about a facial treatment she had in Napa.
Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev first met during DWTS in the year 2017, when she was dating John Cena, who is well-known for his wrestling career and acting in Peacemaker. However, their relationship ended at some point. Currently, Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev are parents to a son named Matteo, born in July 2020.
On Tuesday, September 17th at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, Season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars” will make its debut on ABC and Disney+. The episode can be streamed on Hulu the following day.
