As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for Hollywood trends and a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of acting talent, I must say that Angelina Jolie‘s career has always been intriguing to me. Her life experiences have undeniably molded her into an exceptional actress, capable of portraying complex characters with depth and nuance.
Angelina Jolie isn’t planning on appearing in a romantic comedy film anytime soon, as she discussed during an interview with E! News while promoting her new release, “Maria,” which had its premiere in Los Angeles.
In conversation with the media outlet, the Academy Award-winning actress revealed that her experience with romantic comedies has been limited to portraying Maleficent in the highly acclaimed Disney film of 2014 and its sequel in 2019.
In the Maleficent films, Angelina Jolie’s character is portrayed as being in love with Diaval. Despite Angelina Jolie having spent many years in Hollywood, she has not starred in a traditional romantic movie. However, her characters often exhibit romantic subplots to some extent.
The actress has quite an extensive collection of thrillers on her filmography, featuring titles like Girl, Interrupted, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
During her chat with the entertainment website, the Hollywood actor admitted, “I’m unsure if I could pull off a romantic comedy role.” She went on to say, “I believe Maleficent came closest, as I felt she had romantic feelings for Diaval. In my opinion, it was somewhat like a romance; perhaps I saw things differently from others.
As a fervent admirer, I can’t contain my excitement! In her upcoming venture, our beloved actress takes on the role of the legendary opera singer, Maria Callas. Though this movie initially graced the screens at the Venice Film Festival, it was during its recent premiere in Los Angeles that she shared her profound connection to the part.
In simpler terms, the actress from The Eternals explained that although the public perceives their bond as being based on various aspects, she personally feels a deep connection with the opera singer due to shared feelings of solitude.
Speaking as a fellow enthusiast, it seems there might be a connection between us: the solitary nights spent wrestling with thoughts and ideas, the quiet struggle to decipher mysteries, the sensation of being the sole torchbearer in the darkness. It’s an unspoken bond we share, I believe.
Maria will be released in selected theaters on November 27.
