On Tuesday, April 8, Jillian Lauren, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, was involved in an altercation with the LAPD. After this incident, she was taken into custody on charges of attempted murder. This event took place in the Eagle Rock district of Los Angeles, during a police operation searching for a hit-and-run suspect who was not connected to Lauren.

As reported by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), their uniformed officers were working together with the California Highway Patrol to track down an individual who had escaped from a three-car accident on the 134 Freeway. While they were establishing a safety zone in the vicinity, they noticed a woman named Lauren, who was standing in her front yard with a handgun. This lady was subsequently identified.

As a devoted admirer, I’m retelling an unfortunate incident: “I repeatedly urged Lauren to relinquish her weapon, but it seems she chose not to listen. Instead, she aimed the firearm towards the officers, according to the LAPD’s official statement.

Responding to the situation, officers discharged their weapons. Unfortunately, Lauren sustained a shoulder wound. However, no law enforcement officials or bystanders got hurt during the occurrence.

Following the shooting incident, it’s said that Lauren allegedly returned to her residence. Shortly thereafter, she reappeared outside with her babysitter in tow. Police then took both ladies into their custody.

It was made clear by authorities that Lauren had no link to the initial hit-and-run incident. To put it simply, she wasn’t part of the car accident or the pursuit of the suspect. Nevertheless, Lauren was later arrested on charges of attempted murder because she allegedly pointed a firearm at police officers.

She was transported to a local hospital for medical care, where the police stated her wounds were not critical. Additionally, officers found a 9mm handgun at her home.

Lauren is the writer of two highly successful memoirs titled “Some Girls: My Life in a Harem,” published in 2010, and “Everything You Ever Wanted” from 2015. According to Variety, she has been married to Scott Shriner since 2005 and they share two kids together.

On April 12, during the initial weekend of the Coachella Music Festival, Weezer is set to take the stage. However, as of yet, Scott Shriner, a member since 2001, has remained silent regarding this performance.
