In my recent reflections, I, Ashley Walters, shared a chilling anecdote from the set of the latest Netflix series, Adolescence. I reminisced about the moment when I unintentionally botched a single-take scene.
On the Capital XTRA Breakfast Show, Ashley Walters openly admitted that he came very close to shedding tears due to a mistake he made during filming. But he also revealed that his director stepped in to offer comfort.
During the discussion, Shayna Marie pointed out that it was then when Stephen Graham, Walters’ fellow actor, disclosed an incident where Walters unintentionally messed up a scene.
Regarding the event, Ashley Walters openly acknowledged, “Yes, it occurred. During episode two, I pursued a child at the finale, and inadvertently used his name for my actual son rather than the character’s name.
Later on, he mentioned that the series’ director, Philip Barantinix, paid him a visit to console him. “I was really emotional, man,” Walters reminisced.
In a manner similar to a football team, Walters underscored the importance of collective effort among cast and crew. He confessed to being near tears, as he had just witnessed an excellent scene performance – but unfortunately, his error spoiled it.
