Fox Foundation’s annual A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s Gala, the retired actor spoke to People magazine about how he chooses to keep his humor intact amid his battle with Parkinson’s. 

Despite finding it challenging to preserve his witty, dark humor, he feels compelled to do so as it dismantles barriers in tough discussions and enables him to confront challenges head-on. At an event in NYC, he expressed this sentiment, saying, “Indeed, it’s essential. Let’s acknowledge that and use it to make a positive impact.

Each year, the gala that acknowledges Fox’s work and support towards our foundation is organized. This event was skillfully hosted by Denis Leary, featuring a melodious performance from Stevie Nicks, and none other than Fox himself. In an interview with People’s Magazine, he expressed his surprise at the kindness of many people he has known for such a long time.

He also mentioned his satisfaction in people viewing this as a chance for significant progress, which is indeed their goal. Regarding 2024, the Foundation has amassed $116 million to fund research on Parkinson’s disease, and since its inception, it has accumulated approximately $1.75 billion in total contributions.
