The news has been shared that James Gunn and John Cena are set to appear at a Peacemaker panel during CCXP Mexico in June. Interestingly, there’s no mention of Superman, a film slated for release a month afterward.
Gunn hasn’t yet shown the cast of Superman to a live audience, but it will be his second time doing so for Peacemaker Season 2, having previously promoted Peacemaker last year at NYCC.
Last year, Gunn wasn’t present at San Diego Comic Con, and there’s a possibility he won’t be attending this year’s event in late July either. If he does show up at SDCC this year (with Supergirl premiering next June and Peacemaker Season 2 airing in August), Superman will have already been released by then.
Gunn Promotes Himself, Not Superman, at Major Events
It’s pretty strange if you ask me, as Gunn isn’t promoting Superman at any of the big conventions.
At CinemaCon, Warner Bros. showcased the upcoming movie “Superman“, however, it seems that, just as with most promotional activities for the film, the focus of the CinemaCon presentation shifted towards director James Gunn.
As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’ve noticed that Warner Bros. recently showcased Gunn, alongside Cena, during their advertisers’ presentation, but it seemed like none of the other cast members were in attendance. Interestingly, Gunn was also absent from the CCXP Brazil convention last December.

No Budget, No Cast: Zaslav’s Cuts Leave Superman Off the Convention Circuit
If I were to venture a guess, it seems unlikely that Warner Bros. has any funds allocated for marketing Superman at the different conventions. Does this mean Warner Bros. is struggling financially like Gunn’s version of Man of Steel?
It appears that there is a widespread belief that Zaslav has implemented significant budget reductions across numerous HBO series, including House of the Dragon, and I’ve heard rumors that he pressured Gunn to reboot DC using less expensive talent. Given these actions, it seems that Zaslav may indeed be the driving force behind these cost-cutting measures, making him a potential antagonist in this situation.
In other words, none of the actors portraying characters in the Superman series will be appearing on stage. This includes David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, along with Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.
Hey there! How about we attempt to secure additional James Gunn – Shaquille O’Neal NBA commercials and advertisements to be displayed on the rink-side boards during NHL games when they are being televised?
