Why Is Liam Payne’s Posthumous Single Release Being Postponed? Here’s What We Know

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience working in the music industry and dealing with the complexities that come with it, I cannot help but feel a profound sense of sadness and loss upon hearing about Liam Payne’s untimely passing. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and fans who are left reeling from this tragedy.

Sam Pounds, who worked together with Liam Payne on his last song before his sad demise on October 16, has chosen to delay the launch of their track titled ‘Do No Wrong’. Initially planned for a release on October 26, Pounds made this announcement on Tuesday, October 29. He mentioned that in honor of Payne’s bereaved family, he wishes to give them the power to decide when would be an appropriate time to share the song with the world.

He stated through X that all the earnings should be given to a charity as preferred by the family, whenever they choose. Furthermore, he expressed that while everyone cherishes the song, it’s not the appropriate moment yet. The family is still grieving Liam’s death, and he wants them to have peace for their mourning and prayers. We will all wait patiently.

On the previously mentioned date, a member of the band One Direction, who had been staying at CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, passed away after falling from a balcony on the third floor. The singer was in Argentina to attend a concert by his former bandmate Niall Horan in early October and decided to extend his stay until his death. Accompanying him on this trip was his girlfriend, but she returned to Florida, her home state, just two days before the unfortunate incident.

The funeral arrangements for the Teardrops singer are yet to be finalized, as his body is still under investigation in Argentina. Initial autopsy results suggest that Payne fell from a height of approximately 45 feet off his hotel balcony, possibly while intoxicated or unconscious. A subsequent toxicology test confirmed several days later that traces of drugs like cocaine and crack were found in his system at the time of his passing.

He is mourned by his father Greg Payne, who is presently in Argentina helping investigative officials and organizing the return of his son’s remains to the UK; his mother Karen Payne, sisters Ruth and Nicole; his 7-year-old son, Bear; and his ex-bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik.

The latter also postponed his road shows in the U.S. in light of his friend’s passing.
