As someone who has followed the life of Charles Spencer with keen interest, I find myself deeply saddened and intrigued by the recent developments in his personal life. The separation from Countess Karen and the new relationship with Dr. Cat Jarman is indeed a fascinating turn of events.
Cat Jarman, recently associated with Charles Spencer, has initiated a legal action against her ex-spouse, Countess Karen Spencer, alleging misuse of private data. According to The Telegraph’s reports, the lawsuit was submitted on October 10; however, specific details regarding the case remain undisclosed.
According to People’s report, the ninth Earl Spencer, who is the younger brother of the late Princess Diana, announced his separation from wife Karen in June 2024. Since then, he has been involved with Dr. Jarman, a 42-year-old Norwegian archaeologist and co-host of the podcast The Rabbit Hole Detectives.
In 2011, a former pair crossed paths for the first time on a blind date in Los Angeles, and they decided to get married that same year. Their single child, Lady Charlotte Diana, is now 12 years old. The wedding ceremony took place at Althorp, the ancestral home of the Spencer family, where the final resting place of the late Princess Diana can be found. Charles has four children with Victoria Lockwood, two with Caroline Freud, and another one with Karen.
Charles expressed deep sorrow over his separation from Countess Karen, stating, “It’s incredibly sad.” He further added, “I am committed to focusing on my children and grandchildren now, and I genuinely hope that Karen finds great joy in her future.
In a delightful twist of events, I’ve been open about my growing bond with Charles lately, quelling any lingering doubts. You see, our friendship blossomed under rather intriguing circumstances. It all started when we crossed paths at Althorp, where Jarman was immersed in the archaeological excavation of a Roman villa for a documentary project.
The pair who host the podcast titled “The Rabbit Hole Detectives” have published a new book, which is based on their radio series.
In August, Cat posted about the ongoing archaeological digs at Althorp, hinting at upcoming opportunities for further exploration. Charles admired the Jarman’s crew, appreciating their composed attitude and the dynamic energy they brought to their work.
He wrote on Instagram, “Amazing to think of those long-ago folk enjoying Althorp 1,000 or so years before my family first farmed here in the 1480s. This team was assembled by my fellow Rabbit Hole Detective podcaster Cat Jarman, such a professional, upbeat, and utterly charming group.”
In March, Charles Spencer released a memoir titled “A Very Private School.” He revealed that the intense emotional strain experienced during the writing process had a significant impact on his marriage with Karen. As for Professor Cat Jarman’s lawsuit against the Spencers, specific details are not yet disclosed, except for the allegations of Karen’s inappropriate handling of private information.
