Did Tom Holland take a break from Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Based on Daniel Richtman’s report, it appears that Tom Holland has temporarily stepped out of the picture for Spider-Man: Brand New Day filming. In his absence, a stand-in will be taking over during the filming.
Reportedly, his stunt double will be filming scenes involving multiple villains.
Lately, Tom Holland posted a video on his Instagram showing his return to the Spider-Man set, complete with glimpses from backstage and putting on the iconic Spider-suit once more.
Regarding his comeback, Holland expressed, “Today marks my fourth debut as Spider-Man. Donning the suit always brings a unique sensation, but it’s particularly different this time around. Furthermore, today was the very first occasion where fans joined us on set from the very start.
I’m genuinely thrilled to pass this along. I’ll certainly give it my all and aim for accuracy. Here’s hoping everything goes well, no added stress though.

The upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie will include Jon Bernthal portraying Frank Castle (The Punisher), Mark Ruffalo continuing his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Zendaya reprising her part as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Michael Mando as Mac Gargan (Scorpion). Furthermore, Liza Colón-Zayas and Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink are included in the film, but their specific characters have not been disclosed yet.
The upcoming film, titled “Brand New Day,” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. This will be the fourth movie featuring Tom Holland in the lead role. Known for directing “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Destin Daniel Cretton is at the helm of this project. It’s been reported that the film will stay true to the original comic books.
Moving forward, Tom’s list of forthcoming movies includes The Odyssey. This film is an interpretation of Homer’s classic ancient Greek epic poem, and it falls under the genre of epic fantasy action directed by Christopher Nolan.
In the play, Matt Damon takes on the character of King Odysseus from Greek mythology, famous for ruling over Ithaca. Meanwhile, we see Holland playing the role of his son, Telemachus.
