She briefly discussed this topic during her interview on the Not Gonna Lie With Kylie Kelce podcast, when she was inquired about whether the actress enjoyed being referred to as “the queen of romantic comedies.
Hudson expressed a blend of emotions since, as she’s grown older, she finds great joy in it. She explained further that this occurs when someone achieves success in a particular field, making it something that people come to anticipate and desire from them.
The performer went on saying, “As an actor, I’m always eager to explore many diverse roles.
In simpler terms, Hudson stated that the Hollywood industry often likes to categorize people and stick them in a specific role. She believes that when one is young, they should not allow themselves to be confined by such stereotypes.
She also expressed that when a woman achieves success in a romantic comedy, it feels as if they are desired for that role. However, Hudson noted that this success brings about a desire to explore new opportunities, yet there’s an unwillingness to continue doing the same thing over and over again.
