Why Big Sean Hasn’t Tied the Knot With His Long-Term Partner Jhené Aiko Yet? Says They’re ‘Finding the Right Navigation’

As a dedicated follower of Big Sean’s music and personal journey, it’s clear that he has had his fair share of romantic ups and downs. His relationship with Jhené Aiko, much like a rollercoaster, seems to be navigating through its share of twists and turns. It’s refreshing to see a celebrity couple who are open about the challenges they face, rather than presenting a perfect facade.

In an interview on the Out of Context podcast, rapper Big Sean opened up about the reasons behind not yet committing to his long-term partner and musician Jhené Aiko. During the conversation with host Charlamagne tha God, Big Sean admitted there are personal matters that require attention before they can take their relationship to the next level, stating “there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.”

In the podcast, Sean openly acknowledged that choosing to get married is indeed a highly individual decision. However, he candidly shared that, like many who have experienced love, they’ve had their fair share of highs and lows. He expressed that it’s still an ongoing process to navigate through these challenges. Furthermore, he considered marriage as the epitome of his best relationship, yet acknowledged that with the ups and downs they’ve encountered in their relationship, the journey towards marriage will require some more time and careful navigation.

Ever since the creation of the hip-hop duo Twenty88, their relationship has experienced periods of reconciliation and separation, culminating in a long-term commitment and the birth of their child a year ago. As Sean puts it, the concept of marriage as a necessary component of their future together is largely rooted in fear, given the high divorce rates in America today. Consequently, they have been cautious and deliberate about making a lifelong commitment, carefully considering whether or not to take that step.

Although initially reluctant, Sean shared that the topic of marriage is not entirely ruled out for him. He expressed his desire for it, while also acknowledging his discomfort with airing their personal matters publicly. In the podcast, he added, “There’s a lot of work that needs to be done.”

Previously, Aiko was wedded to music producer Dot da Genius, but they parted ways in 2016, coinciding with the blooming romance between her and Sean. Aiko initiated the divorce proceedings, stating irreconcilable differences. Prior to this, Sean was involved with Naya Rivera, a star from Glee, who unfortunately died in a drowning accident. He had proposed to her, but she ended their relationship in 2014. Subsequently, Sean started dating Ariana Grande, but that relationship didn’t last either.
