Last August, Mae Whitman gave birth to a son, though she hadn’t revealed the identity of his father until recently. This information was inadvertently shared by her friend, Lauren Graham, during a recent interview.
In a surprising turn of events on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, the Gilmore Girls actress unintentionally disclosed that The Flash actor Carlos Valdes is Whitman’s son’s father. When the host mentioned he hadn’t yet met the Tinker Bell actress’s child, she found herself reminiscing about their last encounter together.
She shared that Whitman is presently in New York since Carlos, her baby’s father, is performing in Hadestown on Broadway. “I can’t help but be proud because he’s brilliant in it,” stated the actress from Parenthood, thereby verifying his role.
Unwittingly, she carried on talking about Whitman’s location. It turned out that her fellow star from Parenthood had embarked on a new venture in Ireland, which was her intended destination with her infant child next.
In August 2024, Whitman shared on Instagram that she and Valdes had welcomed their newborn son. “I’m not trying to channel Bieber,” she said, “but I too recently gave birth to our son, Miles, in a nod to Justin and Hailey Bieber’s announcement of their own child, Jack.
Since the moment we heard the tiniest squeak from that little pig’s snout, Whitman was completely smitten.
The moment we heard even the slightest peep from that tiny piglet, Whitman was head over heels in love.
In addition, she disclosed that her son shares a name with Miles Heizer, her fellow Parenthood cast member who is prominently recognized for his character in 13 Reasons Why. For six seasons on the show, from 2010 to 2015, they portrayed siblings Amber and Drew Holt. Notably, Graham portrayed their mother, Sarah Braverman.
Ever since our beloved series came to an end, it’s as if we’ve never really parted ways. You can frequently find us popping up in each other’s social media feeds, creating a warm sense of continuity. In an interview with Glamour back in 2014, I confessed that the Parenthood cast feels like my very own family to me. But let me tell you, there’s something extra special about my on-screen brother, Heizer – we share a bond that transcends the small screen.
