Hoda Kotb’s unexpected departure from the Today Show created a significant gap, but the show is persisting as the saying goes. Previously known as “Today With Hoda & Jenna,” the segment has been rechristened “Today With Jenna & Friends.” Despite Jenna Bush Hager now hosting alone, popular guest stars will make occasional appearances to join her on set.
Bush Hager playfully hinted at her revamped section during the show, featuring guests like Taraji P. Henson, Eva Longoria, and Keke Palmer. On Monday, January 6, she informed Today’s audience that this month would be dedicated to “our tribute to extraordinary women.
Kotb endorsed the schedule, commenting, “That’s a sign of a major player. A grand slam. Impressive. This promises to be an exciting week.
On January 13, Henson will join Bush-Hager, with Longoria and Palmer appearing later in the week. Rotating guest co-hosts may fill in for a week at a time, although some could stay for just two or three days.
In September 2024, Kotb made public her intention to reduce her role on the popular show. Her professional relationship with NBC extends back to 1998, while she began hosting The Today Show as its fourth co-host in 2007.
Since 2018, Kotb and Savannah Guthrie have been sharing hosting duties on the show. According to a statement made by NBC in November, Craig Melvin is set to become Guthrie’s new co-host.
